A new home for Cambodian art
Our design is more than a performing art space, it is a home for the next generation of artists, a cradle for creativity at the crossroad between tradition and modernity, between education and technique.
Notre projet est plus qu'un espace de spectacle, c'est un foyer pour la prochaine génération d'artistes, un berceau de créativité au carrefour de la tradition et de la modernité, de l'éducation et de la technique.
Rooted in the history of the Cambodian arts, this new ACERI forms part of a public park and also the byproduct of know-how and ambition to provide a tool to usher the future of Cambodia on the regional scene.
Enraciné dans l'histoire des arts cambodgiens, ce nouvel ACERI fait partie d'un parc public et est aussi le fruit d'un savoir-faire et d'une ambition, celle de fournir un outil pour l'avenir du Cambodge sur la scène régionale.
The public foyer is designed as an hybrid space, designed for hosting events and exhibit arts. It remains active when there is no show programmed in the hall.
Le foyer public est conçu comme un espace hybride, destiné à accueillir des événements et des expositions artistiques. Il reste actif lorsqu'aucun spectacle n'est programmé dans la salle.
It functions in complementarity with its surroundings promoting the notion of ecology.
The building opens up to the park rather than a decorative black box.
Il fonctionne en complémentarité avec son environnement en promouvant la notion d'écologie.
Le bâtiment s'ouvre sur le parc plutôt que d'être une boîte noire décorative.
The performing hall is inspired by the former Preah Suramarit National Theater. The audience is of a similar size. We have retained the balcony to serve delegations but also to keep the atmosphere when the audience is smaller.
La salle de spectacle s'inspire de l'ancien théâtre national Preah Suramarit. Le public est de taille similaire. Nous avons conservé le balcon pour accueillir les délégations, mais aussi pour préserver l'atmosphère lorsque le public est moins nombreux.
The whole back of house should serve as an education tool for students and technicians, thus we have created an innovative collaborative space: the Exchange platform. This large multifunctional space creates new potential for an otherwise traditional proscenium stage. As it opens to the stages and allows artists, technicians and students to innovate together.
L'ensemble de l'arrière-scène doit servir d'outil de formation pour les étudiants et les techniciens, c'est pourquoi nous avons créé un espace de collaboration innovant : la plateforme Exchange. Ce grand espace multifonctionnel crée un nouveau potentiel pour une scène proscenium traditionnelle. Il s'ouvre sur les scènes et permet aux artistes, aux techniciens et aux étudiants d'innover ensemble.
Contemporary Audiovisual equipment will allow for mixed media performance and amplified shows. The mix between traditional knowledge and modern technology is a key for contemporary artistic research.
L'équipement audiovisuel contemporain permettra des performances mixtes et des spectacles amplifiés. Le mélange entre les connaissances traditionnelles et la technologie moderne est la clé de la recherche artistique contemporaine.
